SUMMARY:Reyn Rock Mural Dedication - READ MORE
DESCRIPTION:On June 24\, join Tri Arts Project\, Reyn Rock Senior Housing\, and Douglas County Housing Partnership at Reyn Rock Plaza for a dedication ceremony celebrating the highly anticipated and incredible new mural celebrating America’s 250th anniversary of independence and Colorado’s 150th anniversary of statehood. The mural was inspired through interviews of senior residents about their memories of the town conducted by Deborah DeGroff\, DCHP’s development and asset manager. Tri Arts Project partnered with Reyn Rock to run the call for entry. The selection process was a collaboration of several Castle Rock groups\, and implemented through a Town of Castle Rock grant program. \nColorado Springs artist Michael Beenenga was selected from the collection of submissions and created the mural over several weeks to bring the Town history to life. His love for art began as a young child. He credits his grandmother for encouraging him to branch out into new styles from a bribe when he was 5 years old. After drawing extremely realistic guns and explosions on old envelopes\, she told him that she would give him paper to draw on if he would draw ‘something nice like flowers. \nHe resides in Colorado Springs\, CO with his wife and business manager\, Vanessa\, and their five children. They enjoy spending time in their backyard playing with their kids on the trampoline\, riding bikes and going on hikes. With over 25 years of professional experience\, Michael uses his talents for anything from a custom graphite pencil portrait to hand painted murals and everything in-between. He is often heard saying “I’ve never worked a day in my life because I love what I do!” As the owner and artist of Artistic Gold Creative Concepts\, Michael is passionate about creating something special and unique for each project no matter what it is or the size.
