Ready to unlock your artistic potential? This friendly Basic Drawing class at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock is a welcoming starting point for adults and teens sixteen and up who want to learn the true fundamentals of drawing. No experience is required. Instructor Jacqueline Shuler guides you through the essential skills needed to understand structure, light, proportion, and the visual thinking behind realistic drawing.
This single session Sunday workshop focuses on practical exercises that strengthen visualization and perception, the foundational skills that make every drawing more confident and accurate. There are no outside assignments. You will leave with new techniques you can use immediately and a clearer understanding of how to continue developing your drawing practice.
What You Will Learn in This Beginner Drawing Course
Participants to bring two pencils, eraser, ruler, and a 9" x12" sketchbook.
Foundational Composition
Learn the basic elements of composition and the picture plane to create balanced and visually effective drawings.
Line, Shape, and Form
Work with line, simple shapes, and basic forms to understand how complex subjects can be broken down for accurate structure and proportion.
Value and Shading
Practice controlling value, light, and shade to build depth, dimension, and more realistic drawings.
Perception and Perspective
Strengthen your ability to see like an artist through guided perception exercises and an introduction to basic perspective.
