Learn the fundamentals of hand bound books in Book Binding, a beginner plus workshop at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Open to ages sixteen and up, this class offers an accessible introduction to creating a small book or journal using traditional binding techniques.
Instructor Vanessa Antonsen guides you through the process of assembling and binding a journal using the Japanese hole punch style of bookbinding. You will learn how to work with basic bookbinding tools and follow step by step methods to create a finished piece with decorative exposed stitching. The class is structured to be approachable while allowing room for careful craftsmanship. All materials are included.
