Glass Fusing - Beginner

Winter Project: Beginner Fused Glass Art Workshop in Castle Rock

Looking for a memorable, hands-on activity in Castle Rock this winter? The Glass Fusing - Beginner workshop, held at Tri Arts Project, is the perfect opportunity for adults (Ages 16+) to step into the world of glass art. Instructor Nancy Daniel will guide you through the initial steps of the fusing process: learning to safely *cut colorful glass and arranging a unique, beautiful design. This class focuses heavily on the design phase, preparing your piece for the final kiln firing.

You will create a 5” x 5” curved glass plate that is ready for display. The final fusing and slumping are done post-class, and the finished plate will be available for pickup 7 days later from Cantril School Building. All necessary supplies are included in your registration fee.

What You'll Learn in This Glass Fusing Workshop

  • Glass Cutting Basics: Safe and effective techniques for scoring and breaking colorful glass pieces.
  • Design and Composition: Arranging a unique design and understanding how glass colors and elements (like dichroic glass) will interact during fusing.
  • Fusing Preparation: Laying up your design and preparing the piece for the kiln firing process.
  • Functional Art: Create a beautiful, finished curved glass plate ready for pick-up.
