Ready to move beyond natural light and take full control of your images? This two week Photography Studio Lighting course at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock is designed for intermediate to advanced photographers ages sixteen and up who want to create polished, professional work in a studio setting.
Led by world renowned photographer Marc Feldman, this course introduces the core principles of studio lighting for both portrait and still life photography. You will work hands on with strobes and LED lighting while learning how light behaves, how to shape it, and how to use it with intention. The focus is on control, consistency, and creative confidence.
What You Will Learn in This Studio Lighting Course
This course focuses on understanding light in a controlled environment and using professional tools to create intentional results.
Studio Lighting Concepts
Learn how light direction, intensity, and distance affect your subject in a studio setting.
Strobe and LED Lighting
Practice using both flash based strobes and continuous LED lighting to achieve clean, professional images.
Light Modifiers and Reflectors
Use softboxes, box lighting, and reflectors to shape light and manage shadows with precision.
Controlled Portrait and Still Life Setup
Apply lighting techniques to create well balanced portrait and still life photographs with consistent results.
What Participants Should Bring
Participants must bring a digital or DSLR camera, camera lenses, and a memory card if required by their camera. All lighting equipment and backgrounds are provided.
