Summer Sewing Class: Master Your Machine Basics

Learn the basics of machine sewing in Sewing Introduction, a beginner friendly class at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Open to ages sixteen and up, this workshop is designed for students who are new to sewing and want a clear, practical introduction to using a sewing machine with confidence.

Instructor Rhonda Shanahan guides you through the essential functions of a sewing machine, including setup, basic maintenance, and everyday operation. You will practice winding a bobbin, threading the machine, and stitching through guided exercises before completing a simple project to take home. The focus is on building comfort and familiarity so you can begin sewing independently. All supplies are included except for sewing machines. Machine rentals are available for an additional fee.

What Participants Should Bring

Bring a working sewing machine with the manual, needle, and bobbin. Wear comfortable clothing. Limited sewing machine rentals are available for an additional fee. Waivers are required.
