About Your Tri Arts Project Watercolor Instructor

For more than twenty years, Sarah Anderson has explored the expressive potential of watercolor. Born in Brooklyn, New York in October 1963, she now lives and works in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, where the natural landscape plays a central role in her creative life.

The guiding theme of her work is the power and presence of nature. When painting, she focuses on the lines, shapes, colors, and subtle details that bring a subject to life. She spends much of her time outdoors painting en plein air—often without needing to venture beyond her own backyard. There is no better way to spend a day than being immersed in nature and translating its rich colors and forms onto paper.

Painting in plein air gives her the freedom to work quickly, loosely, and intuitively. She is inspired by the simplicity of natural shapes and the beauty of color in the world around her. Through her paintings, she hopes to share her vision and interpretation of these moments with others.

At Tri Arts Project, Sarah teaches expressive watercolor and plein air techniques in our classes. With a focus on line, shape, color, and intuitive painting inspired by nature.
