Charcoal: Figure Drawing (from photo)

Tonal Figure Drawing: Master Body Proportions in Charcoal

Take the next step in your drawing practice with this focused Charcoal Figure Drawing workshop at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Designed for artists ages nineteen and up with basic drawing experience, this class explores the human figure using charcoal and value while working from a photograph of a clothed model.

Instructor Leigh Anne Lewis begins the workshop with a live demonstration that introduces body proportions, gesture, and overall structure. You will then be guided step by step through the process of building a figure drawing using black and white charcoal on toned paper. The focus is on observation, proportion, and value rather than speed, allowing you to create a thoughtful and well developed drawing. All supplies are included.
