Encaustics Workshop - Encaustics Level 1

Expand Your Mediums: Explore the Versatility of Encaustic Hot Wax Painting

Explore one of the oldest and most captivating painting methods in this introductory Encaustics workshop at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Designed for beginners ages eighteen and up, this class offers a hands on introduction to painting with hot wax and pigment in a supportive and creative environment.

Instructor Vickie Autobee guides you through the fundamentals of working with encaustic materials while emphasizing safety, experimentation, and creative play. You will learn how wax behaves when heated and layered, then apply those techniques to create small make and take pieces such as cards or collage based artworks. No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided.
