Functional Beauty: Fused Glass Plate Workshop for Beginners
Discover the beauty of glass fusing in this beginner friendly workshop at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Glass Fusing Beginner is open to artists ages sixteen and up and welcomes all experience levels. This hands on class focuses on design, color, and working safely with glass.
Instructor Nancy Daniel guides you through cutting and arranging colorful glass pieces into a unique design. You will create a five by five inch glass composition that is prepared for kiln firing and slumped into a gently curved plate. This focused session allows you to explore the process without feeling rushed. Your finished glass piece will be ready for pickup approximately seven days after class. All supplies are included.
What You Will Learn in This Glass Fusing Workshop
This workshop introduces the fundamentals of glass fusing while helping you complete a finished functional artwork.
Glass Cutting Techniques
Practice safely cutting glass into shapes that support your design.
Design and Arrangement
Learn how to layer and arrange glass pieces to create balance, contrast, and visual interest.
Fusing and Slumping Process
Understand how glass is fused in a kiln and then slumped into a curved form.
Finished Glass Art
Create a one of a kind curved glass plate designed entirely by you.

An apron is optional. All glass, tools, and materials are provided.
