Palette Knife Acrylic Painting - Intermediate October

Ditch the Brush: Explore Bold Impasto Painting With a Palette Knife

Paint with a knife and discover a whole new dimension of texture! Palette Knife Acrylic Painting at Tri Arts Project is a single-session class for adults (Ages 16+) ready to explore impasto techniques using palette knives. Led by instructor Dr. Jacqueline Shuler, you'll learn to apply thick, textured paint in bold, expressive ways — creating a beautiful landscape piece with skills you can continue developing at home.

Designed for beginners, this single Sunday afternoon session runs 2 hours. Instructor provides palette knives only — students bring their own canvases, acrylic paints, brushes, palette, and jar for brush rinsing.

What You'll Learn in This Palette Knife Class

  • Technique Demonstration: Observe and discuss the palette knife painting process in a guided lecture with opportunity to ask questions throughout.
  • Impasto Landscape Techniques: Apply palette knife painting methods to create a richly textured, impression of landscape features in acrylic.
