Master Your Sewing Machine: Beginner Class in Castle Rock

Start a practical new indoor hobby this winter with Sewing Introduction, a beginner friendly class at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock. Offered as a January 2026 session, this workshop is designed for adults and teens ages sixteen and up with no prior sewing experience who want to begin the year learning a useful, hands on skill.

Instructor Rhonda Shanahan provides step by step guidance through the essential foundations of machine sewing. You will learn how your sewing machine works, how to maintain it properly, and how to perform core tasks such as winding a bobbin, threading the machine, and stitching practice samples. The focus of this January 2026 class is building confidence so you leave ready to begin simple sewing projects at home. All class supplies are included except for the sewing machine. Limited machine rentals are available for an additional fee.

What You Will Learn in This January 2026 Beginner Sewing Workshop

This session focuses on establishing strong sewing fundamentals and comfort with your machine at the start of the year.

Machine Literacy

Learn the parts of a sewing machine, how they function together, and how to perform basic maintenance.

Foundational Sewing Skills

Practice winding a bobbin, threading the machine, and stitching through guided exercises.

Hands On Practice

Gain comfort using your own machine while completing simple practice projects during class.

Confidence for Home Sewing

Leave this January 2026 class with the knowledge needed to begin working on basic sewing projects and patterns independently.

What Participants Should Bring

Students must bring a working sewing machine with the manual, a sewing machine needle, and a sewing machine bobbin. Wear comfortable clothing. A limited number of sewing machine rentals are available for an additional fee. Waivers are required.
