Intermediate Sewing: Spring Refresh | Master Pillow Covers & Zippers
Ready to move beyond beginner sewing projects and build real confidence at the machine? This intermediate sewing class at Tri Arts Project in Castle Rock is designed for adults and teens ages sixteen and up who want to strengthen their skills and learn one of the most useful techniques in home sewing, installing a clean, professional zipper.
Instructor Rhonda Shanahan leads this hands on workshop with a focus on accuracy, technique, and practical application. You will pattern, cut, and sew a custom pillow cover from start to finish. You will also learn how to install a zipper closure that looks polished and holds up to everyday use. This class is ideal for students who already know the basics and are ready to take on more structured projects with better results.
What You Will Learn in This Intermediate Sewing Workshop
This workshop focuses on core construction skills that help you create finished home decor pieces with confidence.
Patterning and Cutting

What Participants Should Bring
Please bring the following materials.
- One yard of 54-inch wide home decor weight fabric of your choice. (Instructor will provide a limited selection of alternative fabrics for students to use if they prefer)
- One 22 inch by 22 inch pillow insert
- A working sewing machine with manual
- Sewing machine needle and bobbin
- Zipper foot compatible with your machine
A limited number of sewing machines are available to rent for an additional fee. Rental options are selected during registration.
What the Instructor Provides
All supplies needed for the class are provided except fabric, sewing machines, and pillow inserts.
