Paint a charming, modern composition in watercolor! Simple Watercolor Painting: Birds on a Wire at Tri Arts Project invites adults and teens (Ages 16+) to paint birds in simplified silhouette using expressive line work and soft washes. Led by instructor Raelene Vining, this beginner class focuses on silhouette, spacing, and balance to create a clean, graphic composition that is both playful and refined. All supplies included!

Open to all levels, this single Wednesday afternoon session runs 2.5 hours. All art supplies are provided — bring an optional apron.

What You'll Create in This Bird Watercolor Class

  • Wet-on-Wet & Wet-on-Dry Techniques: Apply these foundational watercolor methods to create expressive soft washes alongside crisp, defined bird silhouettes.
  • Composition & Balance: Practice developing depth and dimension through strong silhouette shapes and balanced spacing to create a refined, modern composition.
