Creativity has been a companion in Lisa’s life for as long as she can remember. She is a “technique explorer” and believes that’s why mixed media is so appealing to her. She loves the quote from artist Nancy Reyner – “mixed media is not just a technique; it’s a philosophical approach that embraces the chaos and beauty of combining various elements into a cohesive whole.”

While her art continues to evolve, She feels inspired to take mixed media in new directions via collages, paper art, monoprinting, and handmade books. As she creates, she strives to pair the familiar with the unexpected. Her art is very personal, and believes each piece tells a story, creates a feeling, or asks a question. Most of her work combines acrylics, hand decorated paper, monoprints, and other mixed media textural elements.

Lisa is also a workshop facilitator, helping people learn new skills and be part of a creative “art experience”. Creativity is good for our wellbeing, and she believes that you don’t BECOME an artist; you remember how to BE an artist. She strives to give people permission to be playful, perfectly imperfect, curious, and in-the-moment while experimenting and learning new techniques.
