Cindy Welch
Cindy Welch is a Colorado native and a Castle Rock resident since 1986. After studying art and graphic design at the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, she pursued a career in graphic design and marketing while she raised 3 daughters. She now has two grandkids and is a full time Fine Artist. Watercolor is her medium of choice with a passion for vibrant color while maintaining realism. She is best known for her images of local scenery and historic buildings, but she finds inspiration in many subjects including flowers and reflective surfaces.Â
Her work is in many private collections including Castle Rock Adventist Hospital, Douglas County Veteran’s Foundation, Cherokee Ranch & Castle Foundation and the Castle Rock Museum. She was recognized nationally in the books Splash 17 & 20 featuring the best of watercolor from around the world. She was featured in the 2017, 2019, and 2021 International Watermedia Shows; 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2nd place winner in 2020 Colorado Watercolor Society State Exhibitions; 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022 Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Exhibitions; 2021 and 2023 award winner in the National Watercolor Society Member Exhibition. She was an award winner in the 2021 Arizona Watercolor Association’s Member Exhibit at Shemer Art Center and has been featured in Southwest Art Magazine. She is a signature member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, and Rocky Mountain National Watermedia. She has taught many workshops in Colorado and Arizona. She also teaches on-going online classes via Zoom.
