Overview:

Exhibition Theme: All things nature and creative interpretations.
Venue: “Twilight on the Trails” fundraising event, Lost Canyon Ranch, Castle Rock, CO
Exhibition Date: September 12, 2026
    ***NOTE: Artwork is for display at the event, with the option for private sales.

Timeline:
– Call for Entry Opens: August 20, 2026
– Call for Entry Closes:  Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. MST
– Invited/Not Invited emails sent: September 6, 2026
– Art Drop Off Day: September 11, 2026 – between 3:00 – 6:00 p.m.
– Art Pick Up Day:  September 13, 2026 – 

Submission Guidelines

PLEASE REVIEW GUIDELINES CAREFULLY

Eligibility:
– Open to all artists ages 16 years old and up working in 2D mediums. This includes, but is not limited to, painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and mixed media.
– 3D work unable to be hung within the limitations listed below will not be accepted.

Theme:
– The subject matter for artwork is open to artist creations of all kinds. The focus is on celebrating nature. Artists are welcome to submit a variety of media and subjects. 

Size & Weight Limitations:
– Maximum size for a piece is 60 inches on any side
– Minimum size for a piece is 18 x 24 inches
– Artwork must not exceed 20 lbs

Framing & Presentation:
– All artwork must be ready to hang. We require secure, wired pieces with secure D-rings.
– Do not submit anything with sawtooth hangers, as they are not compatible with our hanging system.
– Canvases do not need to be framed if they have finished, gallery-wrapped edges.

Sales:
– Work does not have to be for sale. All artists will appear in promotional print materials for event attendees, as well as an event page on the TAP website. Artists wishing to provide contact information or sales information will have that included in promotional materials.
– If your work is for sale, you must handle the transaction through your own website or contact method and you must provide that info with your submission.
– Tri Arts Project and CRAA will not take a commission on sales; artists retain 100% of the proceeds. However, we recommend a 10% donation to Tri Arts Project or CRAA for any sold work to support future exhibitions and our nonprofit organizations. This is entirely optional and is tax deductible.

Duration:
– The exhibition is a single day fundraising event on September 12, 2026 for the Castle Rock 501(c)(3) nonprofit Parks and Trails Foundation, whose mission is to enhance local parks and trails to connect the community with nature, dedicated to improving outdoor spaces in Castle Rock.
– All selected works must remain on display for the entire duration of the event.

Submission Process

  1. Using the form below, you may submit 1–3 pieces per form. You may submit up to 3 separate forms (9 pieces max). Include high-quality images of each work (JPEG or PNG format, 300 DPI resolution, no more than 2MB per image). Multiple submissions are permitted. 
  2. Include all requested information, including your name, the title(s) of your work, dimensions, price (or “NFS” if not for sale), and how one may purchase your work.
  3. Submission Deadline:
    All submissions must be received by 11:59 PM MST on September 3, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered.
  4. Notification of Acceptance:
    Artists will be notified of acceptance by September 6, 2026.
  5. Delivery of Artwork:
    Accepted work must be hand delivered to Lost Canyon Ranch, Castle Rock, Colorado 80104 on September 11, 2026 between 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. Instructions for drop-off will be provided upon acceptance. We do not currently have the ability to accept shipped artwork – all pieces must be hand delivered.
  6. Pickup of Artwork:
    All work must be picked up from the same Lost Canyon Ranch location on Sunday September 13, 2026 between 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. 

Additional Information:
– All submitted works must be original and created by the artist.
– Tri Arts Project, CRAA, and the Town of Castle Rock are not responsible for insuring artwork during the exhibition. Artists are encouraged to insure their own work if necessary. The event site is closed to the public with the exception of this event for the purposes of this fundraiser for ticketed guests.
Artists are welcome to attend the event, however you must purchase a ticket (Tickets available here: https://www.getoutdoorscastlerock.org/twilight-on-the-trails-gala-2026).
– By submitting your work, you agree to allow Tri Arts Project to use images of your work for promotional purposes related to the exhibition, TAP Gallery, and calls for entry.
