Encaustics Workshop - Encaustics Level 1

Discover one of art's most ancient and beautiful mediums! Encaustics Workshop: Level 1 at Tri Arts Project invites adults (Ages 18+) to explore the art of painting with pigmented wax, a technique used since ancient Egypt. Led by instructor Vickie Autobee, participants learn a variety of encaustic techniques and tips, creating beautiful "make and take" cards and small collage pieces. No experience necessary — all supplies are included!

Designed for beginners, this single Friday afternoon session runs 3 hours. All encaustic supplies are fully provided — just wear comfortable clothes that may get stained.

What You'll Explore in This Encaustics Class

• Encaustic Medium & Techniques: Discuss the unique properties of encaustic (wax-based) painting and learn a variety of application techniques to create rich, layered effects.
• Finished Project Creation: Use the skills learned in class to create your own beautiful wax-painted cards or small collage pieces to take home.
