The Art of Drawing Horses
Unlock the Secret to Drawing Horses: Anatomy and Movement for Beginners
Looking for a creative Thursday evening activity in Castle Rock? This four week Art of Drawing Horses course at Tri Arts Project is designed for adults and teens sixteen and up who want to learn to draw horses with confidence. It is built specifically for beginners with little to no drawing experience and focuses on teaching you to understand and draw equine subjects with clarity and accuracy.
Instructor Robert Quimby breaks down horse anatomy into simple forms so you never feel overwhelmed. You will learn to see the horse as a series of geometric shapes and clear proportions, which makes drawing the body, head, legs, and movement far more intuitive. Each session includes step by step demonstrations, guided exercises, and personal feedback to help you grow your skills quickly.
What You Will Learn in This Horse Drawing Course
Simplified Anatomy
How to reduce the complex horse form into basic construction shapes such as ovals, cylinders, and boxes
Proportion Mastery
The correct proportions of the horse and how to apply them so your drawings feel balanced and realistic
Capturing Movement

Foundational Drawing Skills
