TAP Chosen as DCCF Grant Recipient

Castle Rock, Colorado – Tri Arts Project (TAP) is thrilled to announce that it has been selected as a grant recipient by the Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF) to extend its outreach efforts to underserved seniors across Douglas County. This grant will enable TAP to offer tailored art classes at senior care facilities, providing numerous benefits including cognitive stimulation, emotional expression, and improved quality of life for participating residents.

Since late 2022, TAP has been providing free, monthly community art programming to residents in Castle Rock and neighboring areas. These gatherings serve as educational opportunities for community members and foster a supportive social atmosphere for creatives in Douglas County. With the $3,000 grant from DCCF, TAP plans to extend its reach to underserved seniors by offering a series of four art classes at four different senior care facilities across Douglas County. These classes will provide residents with access to diverse art materials, quality instruction, and activities conducive to their well-being. Additionally, it aims to foster a sense of community within the facilities and promote a supportive environment for both residents and staff members.

Dana Frazee, President of Tri Arts Project, expressed gratitude for the support from the Douglas County Community Foundation, stating, “This grant will allow us to make a meaningful impact in the lives of seniors in our community. We believe in the transformative power of the arts, and we are excited to extend our programming to those who may otherwise lack access.”

Tri Arts Project anticipates that each class will have between 12-20 participants and will take place between July – December of 2024. The positive effects of these workshops are expected to extend beyond the residents themselves, impacting nursing staff, caregivers, family members, and volunteers involved in organizing or participating in the classes.

“We are deeply committed to fostering a lasting impact on our community in Douglas County, and we recognize the invaluable role that the Douglas County Community Foundation plays in supporting community initiatives,” added Frazee. “We are eager to explore opportunities for continued collaboration to expand our reach and enhance our free, community-based art programming.”

TAP plans to offer the first two series of classes in Q3 of 2024 and the remaining two in Q4 of 2024.
