Linda Ross
Wielding a humble BA in speech communications, Ms. Ross waded into the employment pool to wear an eclectic array of career hats: symphony musician, automobile salesperson, clerical, public speaking consultant, media account representative, media planner, copy writer, regional theatre and opera, human resources, learning & development, and a deep dive into corporate land’s whitewater. Along the way, she collected wide-eyed observations and juicy human tidbits for future storytelling. Bound to a 9-5 existence, she was the writing geek who was eager to raise her hand; volunteering to transform lackluster department newsletters, enlivening boring managerial curriculum, and creating endless limericks in the margins of spreadsheets during zombie-inducing meetings.
Her passion for storytelling extends beyond the printed pages. You’ll find her performing with the Legendary Ladies, an educational troupe bringing women of the West to life with short monologues in full costume. Research! Audience connection! Authentic costumes! It’s her history devotee’s dream. As a volunteer storyteller in the schools, she loves keeping the historical tradition of oral storytelling alive. Yes, dear screen-savvy first graders, a story only needs an adept teller and an audience. Her heart beats in triple time when wandering museums and ruins. Hear the voices? People just like us, letting us know they existed. Imagine.
