Rene Vecka
Rene Vecka was raised on J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings series and steeped in the ways of Jim Butcher in his Dresden Files series and R.A. Salvatore’s Legend of Drizzt series. Books that he loves have iconic heroes, from Frodo and Sam to Harry Dresden to the Drow elf Drizzt. World building is a fascination of his and he enjoys creating worlds of his own. The Mid Dreki Realm series was designed as a post Ragnarök construct of the Norse Mythos with magic and dragons. He wrote the series with a focus on justice and perseverance and the ever-epic good versus evil conflict.
He is currently working on a spin-off series titled Madcap Adventures. It takes place after the epic conclusion of the first series. However, instead of focusing on epic fantasy, each novel is designed as a standalone (like the Dresden Files). The Madcap Adventure series focuses more on action and adventure, with heavy doses of mystery. Humor has a place, too. It’s like a D&D campaign where instead of rolling dice, you’ll be turning pages.
The Author is married with three children. He says the youngest is a man as stout as a dwarf, with a beard dwarves would be proud of. The oldest can wield a hammer dwarves would hike for leagues to see. The middle child is fair and beautiful with a mind as sharp as any elvish mage. He lives with his wife, two dogs, and two cats, and a host of visiting wildlife, including deer, turkeys, bobcats, bears, and coyotes.
About the Book:
Deadly Dungeon
In a post-Ragnarök world reborn with dangerous magic, bounty hunters Rory and Ingefær take on what should be a simple job: recover a stolen magical heirloom.
But when the trail plunges them into the deadly, illusion-riddled, and poison-laced dungeon beneath Hexerei Mansion—home to monsters and a fiend from Hel itself—their survival depends on uncovering the truth before madness or Hel claims them.
Packed with swordplay, sorcery, mystery, and zany twists, Deadly Dungeon promises pulse-pounding excitement, laugh-out-loud moments, and the addictive rush of a dungeon crawl designed and written by a former dungeon master (not LITRPG).
Join Ingefær and Rory on their first paid job.
